Opportunity
In 2007 and prior to the design and construction of the trail, John served on the Swamp Rabbit Forum, a committee comprised of local members from numerous public, municipal, and educational facilities who shared a common goal of establishing the Swamp Rabbit Tram Trail along the old Greenville and Northern Railway railroad right-of-way.
Solution
Working for the Director of Greenways for the Greenville County Recreation District (GCRD) John was Engineer of Record and under contract with his previous employer to provide design, permitting, and construction observation services for the 9.2-mile segment connecting the City of Travelers Rest to downtown Greenville.
Today the trail supports over 500,000 trail users per year who recreate and travel through and between the western side of the Greenville and Travelers Rest areas.
