Opportunity
The putt putt course at McPherson Park has been a North Main favorite for years but was in need of a renovation and modernization effort. There weren’t too many course features and the greens were degrading due to their age. The City of Greenville undertook a large park restoration project in 2018 and included funding to replace the mini golf course.
Solution
The existing site is directly on the banks of Richland Creek and within the 100 year floodplain. We partnered with the City of Greenville and Harris Miniature Golf to assist with site design and floodplain permitting for the project. A critical part of the design required we verify the proposed mini golf course design and construction would not add fill within the floodplain.
The course opened to much fanfare and the city served free ice cream at the grand opening of the new mini golf course. Kids of all ages can now enjoy the revitalized mini golf course.
